When it comes to choosing your wall decor by color, I don't generally like using bright, bold monochrome abstracts. I know some people like to use them because they want a patch of a certain color on their wall. My thought is that a throw pillow can add plain color, or a table cloth, but a photo can be much more interesting than that.
Most of the photos I like in these color categories will feature a certain prominent color, but not be overwhelmed by it, and usually not be monochrome. There are exceptions, such as "Chinese Fisherman on Rafts" in the blue section, which I find extremely calming.
I also do not include close-up flower photos. There are many of those to choose from, in any flower color you need. But very few stand out from the crowd.

This unusual shot of the Golden Gate Bridge, besides being a viewyou may not have seen before, shows a good use of bold graphics, strong color, and foreground/background interest. Notice how the time exposure makes some parts of the city give off a greenish or bluish glow.
