This is a page of photos I think are among the very best for your wall decor, arranged in no particular order, for you to browse through. Further down the page are groupings by some of my favorite photographers, which could be used in groups as a unifying decor theme.
To be on the list, a photo must have more than the graphical interest from the patterns of shape and color. It could be an emotional impact, the conveyance of a mood, historical interest, or the extra interest that can come from examining fore-, mid-, and background details. You may notice that I like the old stuff.
There are also great photos that create a negative emotion or mood. I did not include those here. If for some odd reason you want to create a room with a disturbing wall decor theme, you can e-mail me; I have suggestions for that, too.

Here are five samples of Margaret Bourke-White's work. As one of Life magazine's first photographers, she travelled the world with her camera, photographing many of the important people and events of the day. She documented wars, the depression, the early Soviet Union, and the rise of American industrialism. She was a master of graphic composition. It was very hard to pick just five photos. There are many more excellent images available at her Art.com page. |
