Living in Texas, I've seen plenty of western decor. Much of it bad. But there's no reason it should be. The American West has attracted great artists since the earliest days of its settlement, including photography pioneers like Carleton E. Watkins and Timothy O'Sullivan, and later, Edward S. Curtis and Edward Weston. Ansel Adams worked largely on western landscapes, and created some of the most beautiful and iconic images of the 20th century. So here are my picks of some of the most interesting images for western wall decor.
It's often photographed, but never better than this.

Edward S. Curtis spent decades photographing the disappearing culture of the American Indian. He is one of my favorite photographers. I put a few of his best on this page, but there are many more at the Art.com Edward S. Curtis page
